Privacy policy

Your photos never leave your device. ShotPress is made by Meru Apps. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does with information.
1. Your photos stay on your device
All compression and conversion happens on your phone. ShotPress does not upload, copy to a server, or transmit your photos, their contents, file names, folder paths or metadata to carry out its work. It makes no network call to compress or convert, so it works with no connection at all.
2. What the app stores on your device
Converted files are saved as new files in your gallery (Pictures › ShotPress on Android; your Photos library on iOS) or a folder you choose. ShotPress keeps a short history of recent jobs — small thumbnails and the settings you used — and your preferences, in its own private storage on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes this. Your original photos are never changed or deleted unless you choose Free up space: then the originals you pick move to your phone's own trash (Recently Deleted on iOS, the trash on Android 11 and later), only after the system asks you to confirm, and they can be restored from there until the system empties it (usually after 30 days).
If you import a ZIP of photos, it is unpacked into the app's private temporary storage so the photos inside can be processed, and those extracted copies are removed after the batch. This all happens on your device.
3. Permissions
- Photo library — photo library access is used to show your photos inside the app's own picker and to read the ones you pick, and to save the results, and — only if you choose Free up space — to ask the system to move the originals you pick to its trash. The photos stay on your device. You can grant access to selected photos only on Android 14 and later and on iOS (limited access), and ShotPress works with just the photos you share.
- Files you import — when you bring in a folder or a ZIP from Files, ShotPress reads what you choose. A ZIP is unpacked in the app's private storage and the extracted copies are deleted after the batch.
4. Analytics and crash reports
ShotPress does not collect analytics or crash reports in its standard build. If a build turns them on, it uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google), which receive only anonymous events — for example which formats were used and whether a conversion succeeded or failed — and crash reports, tied to a pseudonymous app-instance identifier. They never receive your images, file names or paths. The app's privacy information in the store, and this page, will state clearly whether a build has analytics enabled.
5. Purchases
Pro is sold through Google Play billing or the Apple App Store. Payment is handled by Google or Apple; we never see your card details. ShotPress uses RevenueCat to check whether you own Pro. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier and your purchase history (product, price, dates), never your photos. See the privacy policies of Google, Apple and RevenueCat for their handling.
6. No ads, no selling, no accounts
ShotPress shows no ads, has no account to create, and we do not sell or share your personal data.
7. Children
ShotPress is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Your choices and deletion
Uninstalling removes all app data from your device. If analytics are enabled in a build you use, you can reset the app-instance and advertising identifiers in your device settings. To ask about deletion of any purchase or analytics records linked to your app instance, email meruappsdev@gmail.com.
9. Changes and contact
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. Questions: meruappsdev@gmail.com.
